It’s Not Rocket Surgery…. I believe the way of life of a Revolutionary is to be a mirror…to reflect the love, grace and peace of Jesus Christ. It is when our lives are mirrors that we live out the creed of the Revolutionary: Do whatever it takes to get closer to God and to help others to do the same.
Traditionally, the season of Lent is a time for us to “give up” something. Some people give up watching TV, while others give up soft drinks or chocolate. I even know a young person who is giving up Facebook for Lent. The idea of “giving up” something is to help us focus on our relationship with God. I believe “giving up” something is a valuable discipline, but this Lent I am going to try something different. This Lent I am going to focus on adding one “characteristic” that I see in Jesus for me to reflect. This week, I am going to wake up each morning living a life that practices Radical Hospitality.
The idea of Hospitality is found throughout both the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament. We hear stories of Abraham showing hospitality to the angelic visitors and we read in the Letter to the Hebrews that we should show hospitality to strangers, because we might unknowingly be entertaining angels. In his letter to the Church in Romans, Paul gives us a pretty clear understanding of what it means to live a life of Radical Hospitality.
Can you imagine the Revolution that would happen if each one of us made Paul’s words our manifesto? Can you imagine what it would be like if we did more than just talk about this kind of lifestyle? Radical Hospitality….be a mirror and reflect that this week!
Join us for Corporate Prayer!
Wednesday February 24, 6pm - 6:30pm (fourth Wednesday every month)
Come worship, praise, and pray with other believers in the Chapel. "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:19-20). Childcare provided in Ministry Building Room 168.
Following the Light
We are looking for a couple of “techie” dads to help us prepare for one of our Easter lessons for our 1st – 4th graders. You will be acquiring (and paying for J) light bulbs, batteries, wires and switches, then assembling this into a kit for the children’s lesson about following the light of Jesus. Ideally, you would also attend the science workshop the week it is presented to provide the teacher with your technical expertise as they present the lesson. Contact Mrs. Valerie to offer your help.

Introducing Parkway Day School
The precise balance of academic and spiritual elements... that’s what makes Parkway...God’s way.
Parkway Day School provides a licensed weekday ministry offering preschool children opportunities to develop intellectually, physically and emotionally in a Christian environment. In this setting, Parkway preschoolers will discover the beauty of God’s world and wonders of His love. They will learn in a play based program under the direction of qualified Christian instruction. The teachers will plan activities that meet and often exceed the physical, mental, social and most importantly the spiritual needs of its preschoolers.
Ages and classes: The program offers classes for children from 2 years to Pre-K. Classes are divided into the following age groups: 24 - 30 months, 2 ˝ - 3 ˝ years, 3 ˝ - 4 ˝ years, 4 - 5 years Pre-K Prep, 5+ years - Bridge Class
Each class is structured in centers, which make learning fun through experiencing rather than listening. These experiences facilitate language, social, motor and spiritual growth. Themes are selected by our teachers monthly, which provide opportunities for the growth of each child. Each theme ties into a Christian message which is reinforced throughout the month. Both academic and spiritual elements are explored, experienced and reinforced.
In addition, the Parkway Day School curriculum includes time for the children to experience chapel, computer, music and Spanish classes, as well as a variety of special events and activities.
